Registering for Pre-College Courses and Undergraduate Courses

Rising High School Juniors and Seniors wishing to attend Tufts’ Pre-College Program (either Pre-College Courses or Undergraduate Courses), must apply through this link. This system will prompt you to set-up an application username and password. Once complete, you will be able to begin an application for “Tufts Summer Session”, indicating that you are applying for the “Pre-College Program”.

Applications for Tufts Pre-College Program are reviewed by an admissions committee. Admission is based on the quality of credentials submitted by the applicant. Application requirements include:

  • One Letter of Recommendation from teachers, coaches, or others who know your academic ability. All you need to complete the application is the name, email address, and basic title / organization information, for your recommender. An email will be sent to them to collect the recommendation
  • Official Academic Transcript that covers your school work since 9th grade. Transcripts can be mailed after the application is submitted to: Tufts Pre-College Program, Dowling Hall, 419 Boston Avenue, Medford, MA 02155
  • Optional standardized test scores (PSAT, SAT, ACT)
  • Application Fee of $60

Please note that full admission to some summer classes may require a short placement exam to confirm readiness.

Decisions are made on a rolling basis and students typically hear within a few days. Terms of enrollment are stipulated in a Letter of Admission, which is sent to the student via the U.S. Postal Service. Students are asked to confirm admission within two weeks by submitting a non-refundable confirmation fee payment. Subsequent requests to change the terms of enrollment may be considered if made before the Pre-College Program begins.

Tufts University reserves the right to admit as requested, to deny admission, or offer provisional admission. The program is will not provide feedback to applicants when admission is denied.

Note that after admission, you will be prompted to complete a number of disclosure forms and waivers. Participation is contingent upon completion of these forms. Please see this page for additional information.
