High School Students

Rising High School Juniors and Seniors enrolling in the Pre-College Courses, including Undergraduate Courses

Scholarships, typically equivalent to 50% of course tuition, are available to students with demonstrated financial need. Please see our Financial Aid page for more details.

  • A pre-payment on tuition is required within ten days of acceptance to reserve space in the Program
  • This deposit will be applied toward Course tuition and is not an additional fee
  • The balance of payment for tuition is due upon notification of charges, and no later than Monday, June 30, 2017
  • This deposit is non-refundable in the event of withdrawal from the Course

Materials Fees $0-$120
  • Materials Fees are assessed for select workshops and intensives to help cover the cost of materials such as models, technology, kilns, studio managers, and more

Undergraduate Students

Visiting Undergraduates, Tufts Undergraduates, rising College Freshmen, and Students who do not yet hold a Bachelor Degree, taking Summer Semester Courses for credit

Fully matriculated Tufts University students should contact Tufts Student Financial Services Office with questions regarding financial aid for the Summer Semester. Visiting Undergraduates Students should contact the Financial aid Office of their home institution to discuss financial aid options. Please see our Financial Aid page for more details.

      * Each course is assigned a Credit Value, clearly visible in the course catalog online. Tufts courses are typically worth 1.0 credits each, generally equivalent to 4 credit courses at peer institutions. If you enroll in a course with a credit value of greater than – or less than – 1 credit, the tuition for that course will be prorated. For example, Undergraduate students would be charged tuition rates of:

      • $1,400 for a 0.5 credit course
      • $4,200 for a 1.5 credit course

      Visiting Graduate, Adult & Professional Students

      Students not currently enrolled in a Tufts degree program who hold a Bachelor degree and are taking Summer Semester Courses for credit

      Visiting Students may be able to transfer credit from Arts & Sciences Summer Courses into Certificate or Degree programs should they choose to later enroll in a Tufts Degree program. Please contact Tufts Graduate School of Arts & Sciences for more information.

      Limited Scholarships are available for employed Teachers, OTs, and Urban Planners, see the Financial Aid page for more details.       Tufts Graduate Students

      Students currently enrolled in a Tufts Graduate degree or certificate program taking Summer Semester Courses for credit.

      Tufts Graduate students will be charged a per course / credit rate consistent with the per course / credit rate of the Academic Program in which they are matriculated, unless otherwise noted. All course restrictions and degree requirements are consistent with Academic Year policies. For information about Financial Aid and other tuition waiver policies, please contact your Program Director. For additional information, please refer to the AS&E Graduate Tuition and Financial Aid website.

      Please note: Some SMFA courses require an incremental Materials Fee, ranging from $0-$120, which is assessed to help cover the cost of materials such as models, technology, kilns, studio managers, and more. Courses with this fee are noted in the course listing with the amount of the fee that will be charged.

      Intensives & Workshops are academic programs that are not offered for credit, including SMFA Continuing Ed. Tuition and Fees for any students participating in these programs can be found in this section. Courses are identified in “Special Note” as Intensives & Workshops. Without this designation, courses are covered by one of the above policy.

      Intensives & Workshops have tuition rates based on the number of hours the course is designed to have. The “Special Note” section of any Intensive & Workshop will indicate the number of classroom hours for that course.

      Housing & Dining

      Rates for housing and dining options on-campus

      At this time, on-campus housing is available only to students 18 and older. Tufts offers separate housing options for Undergraduate and Graduate students. For more information about housing on-campus at Tufts please see refer to the links below for more information on specific housing programs, including additional information about deposits, cancellation, refund, etc.

      Other Fees

      Late Registration Fee
      Late Registration Fee will be added to a registration that is submitted to the university on or after the first day of the course session ($50 until the close of the Add/Drop period, $100 thereafter).

      Late Payment Fee
      A Late Payment Fee will be applied to student balances that are not cleared on or after the first day of the course session. This amount will be 1.5% of the balance, and will be compounded monthly.
