Title:   Shakespeare & Film

Course Description:

This course involves the reading of five of Shakespeare’s plays, and the viewing of films based on those works. Discussion focuses on the narrative models of the texts (literary and visual), and on the interpretive decisions of the filmmakers. Works may include Much Ado about Nothing, Othello, Richard III, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Hamlet, and King Lear. English Majors: Recommended: ENG 20,21,22, or 23. This course has a pre-1860 designation for degree program requirement purposes.
