Beginning your degree
- 2016-2017 Graduate Student Handbook
- Graduate Advising Topics and Expectations (GATE) worksheet is a suggested list of topics for discussion with advisors. These discussion topics in mentoring relationships are suggestions, meant to support the pre-existing relationships and procedures within departments. It is not an exhaustive list, but serves to augment existing communication between advisors and advisees.

- Orientation Manual provides you information about faculty, support staff, post docs, and other graduate students.
- Seminar Policy for PhD and MS students. You are required to attend all weekly seminars. You will give a seminar talk about every year.

During your degree
General
- Graduate Student Handbook

- Tufts Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Training. This training should be completed annually; you should receive an email when it expires.

Committee Meetings
- Remember to complete Graduate Progress Report for Committee Meetings form prior to your committee meeting. It is also good to print off your updated CV and make a timeline for future work.
- Graduate Student Committee Meeting Guidelines. This is what you and your committee should expect during your meetings.
- Graduate Student Self-Assessment Form (IDP). Good to fill out every semester, particularly in preparation for your committee meetings. Required for NIH funded students, but helpful for ALL.
Qualifying exam
- Guidelines for Graduate Students covers information regarding what is expected/the timeline for your qualifying exam.
- Graduate Qual Exam Research Proposal Guidelines can be used as a guide when writing your proposal, but you can follow other guidelines as determined by your advisor. You should discuss this before you begin writing!

- Sample Thesis Title Pages for MS (page 1) and PhD (page 2) candidates.
- The Graduate Student Handbook (updated every year) has important dates!
- PhD candidates must fill out the Survery of Earned Doctorates.
- The Certificate of Fitness must be signed by all committee members at your thesis defense.
- The Approval of Thesis/Dissertation for Submission must be signed your primary research mentor AFTER you have made edits to your thesis.
