Sophomore Nakeisha Jones is the favorite in the triple jump

JUMBOS AT SOUTHERN MAINE FOR 2010 NEW ENGLAND DIV. III CHAMPIONSHIPS THIS WEEKEND

MEDFORD -- The Tufts University women's track & field team will compete at the 2010 New England Division III Championships this weekend (Feb. 19-20) at the University of Southern Maine.

Action begins on Friday at 4:00 pm with the pentathlon. All other events will be held on Saturday, beginning at 11 am.

For Tufts, sophomore Nakeisha Jones (Boston, MA) is ranked first in the triple jump entering the New England Div. III meet. Her distance of 39'1 1/4" at Boston University's Valentine Invitational on February 12 is not only the best mark in New England, but also the best in NCAA Div. III thus far.

Tufts took third place at the New England Division III Championships last year.
