MEDFORD -- and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced their 2009-10 All-Region teams for the women's basketball season on Wednesday. Tufts junior guard Colleen Hart (Needham, MA) was named to the All-Northeast Region First Team, and to the ECAC All-New England First Team. Tufts senior forward Julia Baily (Farmington, CT) earned First Team All-Region accolades from, and Second Team kudos from the ECAC.

Hart has now garnered First Team honors from the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA),, and the ECAC. Through March 14, she was ranked ninth among New England Division III players in scoring with her 17.3 points per game this year. Her 47.2 three-point percentage (83/176) is the best in the region, while her 83 total threes is second in New England.

Baily was one of New England's top post players with per game averages of 15.7 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 1.3 blocked shots. She also knocked down 102 of 130 free throw attempts, a strong .785 mark. Baily adds these two honors to an All-NESCAC First Team award this season.

Tufts is not only the lone team in the region with two players on the All-Northeast First Team. Coach Carla Berube's Jumbos are also the only team with two players honored on all three D3Hoops All-Region squads. Tufts is one of three teams with two players selected to the ECAC All-New England's three teams.

Hart and Baily were both All-Region Third Team recipients a year ago. This is the third straight year that Hart has been recognized by She was the Northeast Rookie of the Year in 2008. For the ECAC, Hart was its Rookie of the Year in 2008.
