KHALILAH UMMAH, COLLEEN HART EARN D3HOOPS.COM REGIONAL AWARDS

MEDFORD -- On the heels of their amazing run in the NCAA Tournament, the Tufts women's basketball team has two players prominently included in D3hoops.com's All-Northeast Region teams announced today. Senior co-captain Khalilah Ummah (Litchfield, ME) is one of five players named to the First team, and Hart was selected as the Rookie of the Year.

Sixteen players total were selected to the First, Second and Third teams. Ummah, a forward who led the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) with 10.0 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game, and also scored at a 12.9 clip, was the conference's Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. She's the only league member on the D3hoops First team. Hart, who established herself as one of the best first-year players in the country, played 34.5 minutes per game as the team's court leader. The NESCAC Rookie of the Year averaged 11.4 points and 3.4 assists while shooting free throws and three-pointers well.

Coach Carla Berube's Tufts team advanced to the NCAA Tournament "Elite 8" with wins over Wheaton, Mount St. Mary and Mary Washington. Tufts finished 26-4 and played in the NCAA's for the first time, making it the best season in team history.
