AMHERST -- The Tufts volleyball team will play in the semi-final round of the NESCAC Tournament on Saturday after defeating Trinity College, 3-0, in the opening round Friday night at LeFrak Gymnasium on the campus of Amherst College. The Jumbos will play Williams College in the semis at 3:30 pm on Saturday.

After almost a week's layoff, the Tufts team (19-12) picked up where it left off against Trinity. The victory is their fifth in a row and improved their record to 11-1 since October 9. Trinity's season ended with a 19-10 record. Tufts won match without senior captain Katie Wysham (Spokane, WA), who was injured on Thursday in practice.

In 8 p.m. action, leading Tufts� attack was first-year Dawson Joyce-Mendive (Minden, NV) with 17 kills, while junior Stacy Filocco (Olney, MD) added nine kills and 18 digs. Sophomore Dana Feiger (Long Grove, IL) finished with 39 assists and junior Natalie Goldstein (Piedmont, CA) tied for the match-high with 23 digs.

For Trinity, junior Nicole Cahill (Quincy, MA) racked up nine kills and five blocks, sophomore Molly Ullman (Studio City, CA) had seven kills, and senior Emily Moore (Winfield, IL) chalked up 15 assists. Senior co-captain Kathleen Lenz (Cheshire, CT) tied Goldstein for a match-high 23 digs.
