Stacy Filocco and the rest of the Jumbos earned their 17th victory of the season against Bowdoin
 

AMHERST -- The Tufts University volleyball team continued its excellent play during the last three weeks with a 3-0 NESCAC win against Bowdoin College on Friday night at Amherst. The Jumbos have now won five straight conference games to improve to 6-3 in NESCAC. They are 9-1 in their last 10 games overall to improve to 17-12.

Leading the Jumbos against Bowdoin was junior Stacy Filocco (Olney, MD), who recorded a team-high 12 kills with 13 digs. First-year Caitlin Updike (Manhattan Beach, CA) had a similar two-way performance with 10 kills and 12 digs. Junior Kate Denniston (Tarzana, CA) continued to make a mark offensively with seven kills, while sophomore setter Dena Feiger (Long Grove, IL) finished with 33 assists, five kills and two service aces in the three games. Junior Natalie Goldstein (Piedmont, CA) was her usually steady self on defense with 13 digs, while 6'1" senior captain Katie Wysham (Spokane, WA) had three blocks at the net.

Bowdoin boasted three players with double-digit kills, led by Stephanie Drumright's 12 followed by Amanda Leahy (11) and Skye Lawrence (10). Bowdoin got 23 assists from Jenna Diggs and 13 digs apiece from Grace Lazarus and Anna Noucas.

In the final weekend of the regular season, the Jumbos are looking to finish third in the league. They play Colby College at Amherst on Saturday at noon in their regular-season finale. The eight-team NESCAC Tournament starts on Friday night, November 2, at either Amherst (the most likely scenario) or Williams.
