Julia Feltus was one of three Tufts throwers to compete on Saturday

BOSTON -- While the rest of their teammates participated in an alumni meet at the Gantcher Center, throwers Julia Feltus (Reading, MA), Kelly Allen (Norton, MA), and Ronke Oyekunle (Harvard, MA) of the Tufts University women's track & field team saw the first action of the indoor season at Northeastern's Jay Carisella Invitational on Saturday.

In her first collegiate competition, Allen was a solid seventh out of 42 entrants in the shot put with a best heave of 37'2 1/2 (11.34m). She was second among Division III athletes. Feltus placed 13th at 32'10 1/2 (10.02m) and Oyekunle was 15th with 32'8 1/4 (9.96m) distance.

Feltus and Allen also competed in the weight throw, which had 32 competitors. Feltus was 14th with a best toss of 39'7 3/4 (12.08m) and Allen was 21st with a 34'7 3/4 (10.56m) best.
