Meet Results
MEDFORD -- Sophomore Logan Crane (Portland, ME) won the 55 meters
and was second in two other events as the Tufts women's indoor track &
field team hosted its first meet of the season at the Gantcher Center
this weekend. The Jumbos placed second out of 11 teams overall with 186
points, behind only UMass Lowell (236).
Crane won the 55-meter dash in 7.42 seconds, a tenth of a second off
the NCAA provisional mark. She was also the runner-up in the 200 meters
with a time of 26.5 seconds and in the long jump with a 16' 8" best
effort (5.08m) to score 26 points individually for the team.
First-years Sarah Nolet (Los Altos, CA) and Allison Fechter
(Haddonfield, NJ) also won their events. Nolet topped a field of six
in the pentathlon by scoring 2,973 points and Fechter cleared 10 feet
(3.04m) in the pole vault. Tufts also got short-field victories in the
5,000 from junior Veronica Jackson (Durham, NH) with a 19:29.26
time and from the 4x8 relay (9:50.10).
Among a number of runner-up performances for the Jumbos was a 5:08.26
finish in the mile run by senior Katy O'Brien (North Easton, MA),
leading a 2-3-4 Tufts effort in the event.
