SPRINGFIELD -- The Tufts University women's outdoor track & field team scored 53.83 points for a sixth-place finish at the 2007 New England Division III Championships hosted by Springfield College.

The Jumbos did not win any events, but scored plenty of points with top-eight finishes. The best was from junior Joyce Uang (Medford, MA), who tied second in the high jump after clearing 5 feet, 1 1/4 inches. Uang also ran the third leg for the 4x400 meter relay, whose time of 4 minutes, 1.56 seconds was third-best. The Jumbo foursome also included sophomore Aubrey Wasser (Richmond, VT), first-year Andrea Ferri (Dracut, MA) and junior Kaleigh Fitzpatrick (Lynnfield, MA).

Tufts first-year sprinter Logan Crane (Portland, ME)  won the preliminary heat of the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.65 seconds. Though she improved that mark to 12.62 seconds the final, she finished third overall. Senior Jessica Mactas (New Canaan, CT) added a third-place tie in the 200 meter dash, crossing the finish line in 25.9 seconds (hand-held).
