Meet Results

MEDFORD -- The first indoor track & field meet of the season at the Gantcher Family Sports & Convocation Center featured some old and some new for the Jumbo team in the non-scoring meet.

Veterans Sarah Crispin (Auburn, ME) and Catherine Beck (Brookline, NH) won events, as did freshman Logan Crane (Portland, ME) in her first meet at Ganthcer.

Cripin and Beck, both NCAA Indoor national qualifiers last year, won the 1,000 meter run and the 3,000 meter run, respectively. Crispin's time of 3 minutes, 1 second flat nipped Wheaton College sophomore Lilly Calderwood (3:02.06). Beck dominated the 3,000 meter run with a time of 9:56.37, finishing ahead of teammate Katy O'Brien (North Easton, MA).

Crane, meanwhile, one of the team's top recruits, went 16 feet, 8 3/4 inches in the long jump to win that event by over a foot. She also took third in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.47 seconds and in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.2 seconds.

Aubrey Wasser (Richmond, VT) was the runner-up in the 400 meter dash with a 1:01.11 finish. Paula Dormon (Brockton, MA) was also second in the shot put, reaching 37' 11" with her best throw.

Tufts hosts the second meet of the season at Gantcher on Saturday.
