HANOVER, NH -- The Tufts University women's indoor track team's 4 x 200 meter relay foursome of sophomore Jackie Ferry (Studio City, CA), sophomore Aubrey Wasser (Richmond, VT), freshman Andrea Ferri (Dracut, MA) and senior tri-captain Maggie Clary (Grantham, NH) took third place at the Dartmouth Relays on Sunday with a time of one minute, 51.16 seconds. UMass Lowell won the race with a 1:47.04 time.

The relay's effort scored eight points for Tufts, which had 12 total in finishing ninth out of 11 in the open women's college meet. Host Dartmouth won with 163 points. The meet resumed the 2006-07 season for the Jumbos.

Sophomore Paula Dormon (Brockton, MA) added an eight-place finish in the shot put with a best throw of 40 feet, 2 3/4 inches. She scored fourth-place points (4) due to unattached competitors finishing ahead of her. Freshman Julia Feltus (Reading, MA) was also entered in the shot and placed 23rd with a 33' 0 1/2" mark.

The Jumbos had three middle-distance runners finish in the middle of their packs. In the 400 meters, Jackie Ferry and Andrea Ferri finished 16th and 17th, respectively, out of 34 runners. Ferry timed 62.2 seconds and Ferri was right on her heels in 6.25 seconds. Junior Anna Shih (Pittsford, NY) was 12th out of 20 in the mile run with a 5:31.08 finish.

Competing on Friday, Clary was 11th out of 12 in the pentathlon. She performed best in the 800 meters (2:32.6) and in the 60 meter hurdles (10.57 seconds).

Tufts resumes the 2006-07 indoor season in earnest this Saturday (Jan. 13) when they host the first indoor invitational at the Gantcher Center.
