LOWELL -- Sophomore Katy O'Brien (North Easton, MA) won the 1,500 meter run and helped the 4x400 meter relay to victory to highlight the Tufts University women's outdoor track & field team's performance at the George Davis Invitational on Saturday at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.

O'Brien ran 4 minutes, 45.64 seconds in the 1,500 for first place. She was trailed closely in third place by teammate Sarah Crispin (Auburn, ME) with a finishing time of 4:49.31.

In the 4x4, O'Brien ran the third leg of a winning 4:00.23 time to beat Williams. She was joined by junior Joyce Uang (Medford, MA), senior tri-captain Rachel Bloom (Sharon, MA) and freshman Jackie Ferry (Studio City, CA).

Sophomore Catherine Beck (Brookline, NH) won the 3,000 meters in 10:00.26 time. She and O'Brien are currently qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 800 meters, while Beck is also nationally ranked in the 1,500. Senior Becca Ades (Shelburne, VT) also has a national provisional time in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.

Also at Lowell, sophomore Sarah Martin (Woonsocket, RI)  took second place in the hammer throw with a best distance of 137 feet flat.
