Meet Results

MEDFORD -- The 4x800 meter relay team led the Tufts University women's indoor track & field team on Saturday with a victory in the first home invitational of the season. The foursome of freshman Evelyn Sharkey (Brunswick, ME), junior Kate Makai (Brookfield, CT), freshman Susan Allegretti (Crown Point, IN) and sophomore Anna Shih (Pittsford, NY) ran 10 minutes, 6.63 seconds for first place in the non-scoring meet.

The Jumbos also posted a trio of runner-up performances. Junior Sarah Crispin (Auburn, ME) was second in the 1,500 meter run with a 4:54.55 time. Freshman Katrine Dermody (Erieville, NY) took second in the pole vault with a best of 8 feet, seven inches. She was followed by freshman Marisa Jones (Coopersburg, PA) at 8' 1 1/4". Tufts also went 2-3 in the long jump, with sophomore Jenna Weir (New York, NY) reacing 16' 6 1/2" and calssmate Kaleigh Fitzpatrick (Lynnfield, MA) notching 15' 9 1/2".

Tufts only had about half of the team competing due to sickness and injury.
