Meet Results

BRUNSWICK, Me. - The Tufts women's indoor track and field team recorded 102 points to Bowdoin College's 74 points to claim victory in a dual meet held at Bowdoin on Saturday. The team's depth proved instrumental as they won less than half of the events (eight out of 18).

Senior Shushanna Mignott (Hartford, CT) led the Jumbos by winning two events. Her victories in the long jump (16 feet, 1 inch) and the triple jump (34' 8 1/4") scored ten points for the team. Junior Sika Henry (Upper Montclair, NJ) won the high jump with a jump of 5'3" to record the third victory for Tufts out of four jumping events.

Senior captain Jess Trombly (Nashua, NH) and sophomore Rachel Bloom (Sharon, MA) occupied the top two spots in the 55 Meter Dash and the 200 Meter Run. Bloom finished first in the 55 Meter Dash with a time of 7.53 seconds, and Trombly was right on her heels with a time of 7.55 seconds. In the 200 Meter Run, Trombly came away victorious with a time of 26.33 seconds, closely followed by Bloom in a time of 26.39 seconds. Senior captain Lauren Caputo (Belmont, MA) was the other individual winner for the Jumbos, winning the 3000 Meter Run in 10:24.76. The time qualifies her for the All-New England meet.

The winning 4x200 relay of senior captain Emily Bersin (Orleans, MA), Trombly, freshman Kate Makai (Brookfield, CT) and Bloom's 1:47.48 time is the third fastest time in Tufts history.
