HANOVER, N.H. -- A fourth-place finish by Myriam Claudio (Woburn, MA),
Ayako Sawanobori (Arcadia, CA), Claudia Clarke (Lynn, MA) and
Rachel Bloom (Sharon, MA) in the 4x200 Meter Relay was the best effort by the Tufts Women's Indoor Track & Field team as the relays led the Jumbos to placing 13th out of 27 teams at the Dartmouth Relays on Sunday.
Tufts was sixth in the both the 4x400 and Distance Medley Relay to score a point per event. The 4x4 featured sophomore
Sika Henry (Upper Montclair, NJ), Clarke, freshman Daniela Fairchild (Somerset, MA) and junior
Katie Higley (Raymond, ME). The DMR was junior Lauren Caputo (Belmont, MA), junior
Emily Bersin (Orleans, MA), sophomore Katie Sheedy (Reading, MA) and senior
Mary Nodine (Portland, ME).
Claudio placed fifth in the Pole Vault with a school-record of 10 feet, six inches, and junior
Jess Trombly (Nashua, NH) was also fifth in the Pentathlon with 3,085 points to lead Tufts individually. Both scored two points. Trombly's total was second on Tufts' all-time list in the event.
Henry earned a third of a point by finishing in a three-way tie for sixth place in the High Jump with a 5-2 1/4 final that was her personal best. Junior
Lauren Caputo (Belmont, MA) also had a PB in the 3,000 Meter Run with a 10:45.45 for ninth place.
