SOMERVILLE -- The Tufts University Jumbos could not solve the defense of #1 ranked Williams College, as they dropped a close match to the Ephs, 1-0, in NESCAC women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon at Kraft Field.

The lone goal of the contest came at the 37:21 mark when Williams sophomore Sara Wild (Portland, OR) blasted a ball in traffic by Tufts sophomore keeper Hannah Jacobs (Mill Valley, CA) for the 1-0 lead. The unassisted goal was Wild's fifth of the season.

Tufts could not get on the board even though they out-shot the Ephs 13-6 for the match. Williams' junior keeper Lauren Sinnenberd (Westfield, NJ) made four saves on the day while not allowing any goals. Jacobs went the full 90 minutes for Tufts, making two saves and allowing the one goal.

With the loss the Jumbos fall to 6-4-0 overall and 3-3-0 in the NESCAC, while Williams stays undefeated at 10-0-0 overall and 6-0-0 in the NESCAC.

Tufts returns to action tomorrow afternoon at 1 pm when they host Wesleyan at Kraft Field. Williams plays again tomorrow as well with a match at Colby.
