MEDFORD – The Tufts University women's soccer team posted a 53-2 advantage in shots, and got two goals from freshman Becky Greenstein (Newton, MA), while recording a 5-0 victory over Greater Boston rival Simmons College on Thursday afternoon.

Despite the dominance of the Jumbos, the game was only 1-0 at halftime. Senior Becky Mann (Ridgefield, CT) scored her first goal of the season in the 20th minute to put Tufts up 1-0. Simmons sophomore keeper Aimee Lemieux (Bennington, NH) made nine saves in the first frame to keep the margin at one.

Then the Jumbos, who have been struggling offensively all season, assaulted the net with four second-half goals. Greenstein got it rolling by heading in a cross from Mann in the 51st minute for a 2-0 Tufts lead. Leading scorer Jess Trombly (Nashua, NH) was found open in the box by Mann in the 62nd minute and converted her fourth of the year for a 3-0 advantage.

Greenstein set up classmate Lindsey Wolejko (East Lyme, CT) for Tufts' fourth goal at 75:09, then increased her point total on the day to five with an unassisted goal from close range on the right side of the cage with under two minutes to play.

Tufts keepers Mara Schanfield (St. Paul, MN) and Meg McCourt (Rochester, NY) combined for the shutout, the Jumbos' fourth of the season. Schanfield needed to make just one save for it. Lemieux finished with 15 saves for the Sharks, who had scared Tufts for a moment last season before losing 3-2.
