MEDFORD – The Tufts Jumbos outscored host Smith College, 26-12, in the second half to post a 45-34 victory in women's college basketball action on Saturday afternoon. Senior forward Jayme Busnengo (Buzzards Bay, MA) posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Jumbos, who stopped a two-game losing streak and improved to 6-4 overall. Smith dropped to 6-7 overall.

The Pioneers led 22-19 at the half, getting eight points from freshman Diana Bull in the first 20. Tufts came back in the second half, outscoring the home team 11-3 in the first 10 minutes of play. The Jumbos sealed their victory on the free throw line in the second half, scoring on 12 of 15. They held Smith to just four of 23 from the field in the second half (17.4 percent).

Senior Katie Kehrberger (Waldwick, MA) added seven points, four rebounds and three assists for Tufts, while junior forward Emily Goodman (Briarcliff, NY) had 10 points and nine rebounds. The Jumbos didn't shoot too well in this low-scoring game either, finishing 15 for 57 (26.3%) compared to Smith's 12 for 49 (24.5%). Smith was led by Bull's 11 points and with 12 rebounds by Amanda Wenczel.
