NEWTON -- Freshman Erin Connolly (Syosset, NY) canned four three-pointers and scored 14 points to lead 12 Tufts scorers as the Jumbos hammered Lasell College, 84-35, in collegiate women's basketball action on Thursday night. The host Lasers entered the game with a 4-2 record, but were overmatched against the Jumbos from the start. The 49-point margin of victory is the largest by the Tufts women since a 90-31 win over UMass-Boston on November 23, 1991 at Cousens.

Tufts led 42-17 at the half, shooting 17 for 35 (48.6 percent) in the first half, including six of eight from three-point land. The second half was nearly identical, with Tufts again scoring 42 points despite not shooting the ball as well. Lasell turned the ball over 38 times and managed just 40 shots in the game. The Jumbos had 19 steals, including six by junior point guard Hillary Dunn (Medfield, MA).

Like in Tuesday's 33-point win at Regis, Tufts Head Coach Janice Savitz was able to get all of her players into the game. Junior Sarah Conlon (Marlborough, CT) responded with eight points in 12 minutes. Freshman Allison Love (Duxbury, MA) added eight points in nine minutes. Junior starter Erin Harrington (Fall River, MA) continued her excellent play with 13 points, fie rebounds and four steals.

The Jumbos return home on Saturday to close the semester with a game against Wheaton College. It's part of a double-header with the men's team against the Lyons and tips off at 5 pm.
