NORTON, Mass. -- Four Jumbos scored in double figures, led by sophomore center Emily Goodman (Briarcliff, NY) with 16 points, as Tufts posted a 63-50 win at Wheaton to close the first semester of action. Head coach Janice Savitz's team will resume the season at the Great Goombay Shoot-Out in the Bahamas on January 3.

The game was close throughout until Tufts put together an 11-2 run in the final 3:25 to seal the victory. Leading by three at the half, 32-29, Tufts did the job defensively in the second half. They held the host Lyons to 21 points and 25-percent field goal shooting (6/24) in the second half. So while they only shot 29.6 percent themselves (8/27), they out-scored Wheaton by 10 in the second half.

Goodman had 10 points in the second half. Freshman guard Maritsa Christoudias (Saddle River, NJ), sophomore guard Hillary Dunn (Medfield, MA) and freshman forward Kate Gluckman (Morrisville, VT) all finished with 10 points overall for the Jumbos.
