MEDFORD, Mass. -- The host Tufts Jumbos opened a 21-7 lead 10 minutes into the game and cruised to a 76-48 victory over the Gordon College Fighting Scots in New England women's college basketball action on Tuesday night.

Freshman Emily Goodman (Briarcliff, NY) scored 19 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead the Jumbos, who stopped a two-game slide and improved to 9-4 overall. Gordon, who was led by senior co-captain Jess McGouldrick's (Gorham, ME) 19 points, dropped to 7-11 overall.

The visiting Scots faield to score for 10 minutes early in the first half, allowing Tufts to score 14 straight points to lead 21-7 with 9:53 to go until halftime. Goodman had 13 points in the first half as Tufts led 35-19 at the break. Gordon never threatened in the second half.

Sophomore Katie Kehrberger (Waldwick, NJ) had a hot hand, hitting five of six shots and scoring 11 points. Junior guard Shira Fishman (Silver Spring, MD) did a little bit of everything with 10 points, eight assists and three steals.

The Jumbos play a make-up game at Clark on Thursday (Feb. 3) at 7 pm.
