LYNCHBURG, Va. -- The Lynchburg College Baseball team extended its winning streak to 14 games with a come-back victory over Tufts University on Friday, 13-9. The game was the season opener for the Jumbos.
Tufts jumped out to a 6-1 lead, but Lynchburg would score five in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game at 6-6. The Jumbos regained the lead, scoring two runs in the sixth inning, thanks to Hornet errors. Robert Lydick received the win for Lynchburg, throwing three scoreless innings in relief striking out three while allowing only one hit.
Senior 3B Adam Kacamburas (North Reading, MA) was 4 for 5 with four runs batted in for the Jumbos. His two two-run singles highlighted three-run innings in the third and fourth for the Jumbos. Sophomore RF Matt Clement (Norwood, MA), junior 2B Frank Dinucci (Wilton, CT), freshman LF Chris Decembrele (Walpole, MA) and junior C Bob Kenny (Milford, MA) all had multi-hit games for the Jumbos.
