MEDFORD -- Tufts freshman Jon Lee (Manhasset Hills, NY) threw a two-hit shutout in the second game to earn the Jumbos a split with Trinity College in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) baseball double-header on Saturday afternoon. Trinity won the first game, 1-0.

By the time Lee gave up Trinity's first hit in the fifth inning of game two, the Jumbos already led 5-0. They scored five times in the bottom of the third, including two on a single by freshman RF Evan Zupancic (Lake Oswego, OR) and another on a double by senior CF Josh Marks (Tucson, AZ). Junior LF Todd Boutwell (Woburn, MA), who had three RBIs in the game, tripled home two runs in the bottom of the sixth. Senior SS Mike Gray (Teaneck, NJ) had three hits and scored three runs. Lee struck out eight and did not walk a batter.

Tufts, ranked third in this week's New England poll, moved to 16-6 overall. Trinity, #4 in the rankings, is now 15-5.
