JUMBOS EARN TOP SEED IN NCAA BASEBALL REGIONAL AT
EASTERN CONNECTICUT

MEDFORD
-- With a 31-5 record and their second New England Small College
Athletic Conference (NESCAC) championship under their belt, the 2010
Tufts University baseball team was granted the #1 seed in the NCAA
Division III Championship Regional to be played this week at Eastern
Connecticut State University in Willimantic, Conn.
The Jumbos will face eight-seed St. Joseph's College of Maine
(32-11) in the first round on Wednesday (May 19) at 1:15 pm. The
other first-round match-ups include #4 Eastern Connecticut vs. #5
Worcester State at 10 am, #3 Western New England vs. #6 Westfield
State at 4:30 pm, and #2 Wheaton vs. #7 UMass Boston at 7:45 pm.
Play continues through Sunday, if necessary.
This is the third NCAA Tournament appearance for Coach John Casey's
Jumbos. Tufts has a 2-4 record overall at the NCAA Regional. They
lost both of their games in 1995, and then split four games in 2002.
