BRIAN CASEY AND BRYAN MCDAVITT TO PLAY AT FENWAY IN ALL-STAR GAME

MEDFORD Infielder/pitcher Brian Casey (Milford, MA/Milford) and first baseman Bryan McDavitt (Holden, MA/St. Peter Marian), senior leaders of the Tufts University baseball team in 2007, will play at Fenway Park on Sunday night (July 22) as part of the New England College Baseball All-Star Game.

Casey and McDavitt are members of the Division III Senior All-Star team that will join the Division II All-Stars in a game against a team made up of Division I All-Stars. Sponsored by the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA), the game will begin at approximately 6:30 pm, after the Red Sox host the White Sox. Tickets will be sold for $5 at Fenway's Gate D. This is the 33rd Annual NEIBA All-Star Game.

Casey was the Tufts team's lead-off hitter, shortstop and closer this past season. He hit .316 with 27 runs batted in, fielded .942 with just 10 errors in 172 attempts, and recorded six saves with a 2.00 earned run average. McDavitt was the team's MVP, finishing at .370 with a .504 on-base percentage and .479 on-base percentage. McDavitt was All-New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) first team and Casey was on the second team.

The 2007 Jumbos posted the third-best single season win total with their 25-12 record. After winning the NESCAC East Division pennant, they advanced to the conference tournament championship game.
