BRIAN CASEY AND BRYAN MCDAVITT TO PLAY AT FENWAY
IN ALL-STAR GAME
MEDFORD � Infielder/pitcher Brian Casey (Milford, MA/Milford)
and first baseman Bryan McDavitt (Holden, MA/St. Peter Marian),
senior leaders of the Tufts University baseball team in 2007, will
play at Fenway Park on Sunday night (July 22) as part of the New
England College Baseball All-Star Game.
Casey and McDavitt are members of the Division III Senior All-Star
team that will join the Division II All-Stars in a game against a
team made up of Division I All-Stars. Sponsored by the New England
Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA), the game will begin at
approximately 6:30 pm, after the Red Sox host the White Sox. Tickets
will be sold for $5 at Fenway's Gate D. This is the 33rd Annual
NEIBA All-Star Game.
Casey was the Tufts team's lead-off hitter, shortstop and closer
this past season. He hit .316 with 27 runs batted in, fielded .942
with just 10 errors in 172 attempts, and recorded six saves with a
2.00 earned run average. McDavitt was the team's MVP, finishing at
.370 with a .504 on-base percentage and .479 on-base percentage.
McDavitt was All-New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC)
first team and Casey was on the second team.
The 2007 Jumbos posted the third-best single season win total with
their 25-12 record. After winning the NESCAC East Division pennant,
they advanced to the conference tournament championship game. #
