Meet Results

SPRINGFIELD -- Junior Isaiah Paramore (Charlotte, NC) of the Tufts University men's outdoor track & field team cleared 6'6 3/4" (2.00m) in the high jump to lead the Jumbos at the ECAC Division 3 Championships hosted by Springfield College on Thursday and Friday. Tufts finished in a tie for 29th place by scoring 10.5 points.

Paramore's height was just three-quarters of an inch shy of the NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 6'7 1'2", which is also the Tufts outdoor record. Paramore tied for second place at the ECAC meet.

A skeleton Jumbo line-up also featured points from senior sprinter Phil Rotella (Louisville, KY) and sophomore Jeff Ragazzini (Wilton, CT). Rotella, competing in the last meet of his career, placed seventh in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.03 seconds. Ragazzini ran 4:00.40 for eighth place in the 1,500 meter run.

Senior quad-captain Colin Fitzgerald (Scarborough, NY), also in action for the last time, was just outside of the top eight in the 100 meters with a 22.17 time for 10th. Likewise, junior quad-captain Nick Welch (Seattle, WA) was 10th, just a fraction of a second out of eighth place with his 9:36.96 time in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.

The NCAA Championships are next week (May 21-23) in Marietta, Georgia, with junior Jesse Faller (Burlington, MA) likely qualified in the 1,500 and the 5K.
