PRINCETON, N.J. -- In a strong field of 81 runners mostly from Division 1 schools, junior Jesse Faller (Burlington, MA) of the Tufts University men's outdoor track & field team ran an outstanding 14:26.01 time in the 5,000 meters at Princeton University's Larry Ellis Invitational on Friday night. The time is an NCAA automatic qualifier and was 13th in the race.

Faller, who finished fourth at the NCAA Indoor 5,000 a few weeks ago, beat the outdoor automatic qualifying time of 14:28 by almost two seconds. Ben Massam from William & Mary won the race in 14:09.84.

Junior quad-captain Nick Welch (Seattle, WA) also represented the Jumbos at Princeton's Weaver Stadium. He was 30th in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a 9:37.83 time. Syracuse's Kyle Heath was first with an 8:51.39 time.

The rest of the Jumbos compete at Dartmouth College on Saturday.
