SPRINGFIELD -- Junior high jumper James Bradley (Atkinson, NH) is the 2008 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) champion after clearing 6'6 1/4" (1.99m) at Springfield College on Friday. His performance highlighted the ECAC meet for the Jumbo men's outdoor track & field team, which placed ninth with 27 points scored.

Tufts scored six points in the 400-meter hurdles as sophomore Trevor Donadt (Northborough, MA) ran fourth in 54.71 seconds and classmate Andrew Longley (Short Hills, NJ) was eighth in 55.41 seconds. Senior Nate Scott (East Hartford, CT) was fifth in the ECAC decathlon (5,795 points), winning the high jump event with a 6'4 3/4" mark that would have placed second behind Bradley in the individual high jump competition.

The Jumbos also received points from sophomore Ikenna Acholonu (Shoreline, WA) in the 110 hurdles (8th in 15.52), junior Phil Rotella (Louisville, KY) in the 100 meters (11.08), sophomore Nick Welch (Seattle, WA) in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (7th in 9:34.31) and senior Joe Brown in the hammer throw (7th at 165'11 1/2").

NCAA entries will be announced on Sunday for the 2008 Championships at Oshkosh, Wisconsin next Thursday through Saturday (May 22-24).
