DURHAM, N.H. -- The high jumping pair of senior quad-captain
Jeremy Arak (Ipswich, MA) and junior James Bradley (Atkinson,
NH) joined sophomore hurdler Trevor Donadt (Northborough, MA)
to score all of the Tufts University men's outdoor track &
field team's points at the All-New England Championship meet held at
the University of New Hampshire this weekend. The Jumbos placed
19th.
Arak had the team's best individual finish, clearing 6'6 3/4" to earn
third at the meet. That was just a fraction shy of the NCAA required
height of 6'7". Bradley topped out at 6'4 3/4" for sixth place. The
Jumbo pair were the only two Division 3 entrants in the top seven for
the event. The meet featured Div. 1, 2 and 3 teams.
Donadt improved his time in the 400-meter hurdles by three-tenths of
a second to 54.03. That took fourth at the meet, first in Division 3, and
moved his NCAA qualifying place up into the top 20.
Junior Phil Rotella (Louisville, KY) was 10th in all New
England in the 100 meters (11.02 seconds) and just outside the top 10 at
11th in the 200 (22.38 seconds). The 4x1 missed scoring a point by
three-tenths of a second, crossing the finish line in 43.60 for ninth
place.
The Jumbos have the ECAC Championships next week at Springfield
College as the final chance to attempt to qualify for the NCAA
Championships in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in two weeks.
