Meet Results

MEDFORD -- The Tufts University men's indoor track & field team's distance medley relay opened the squad's appearance at the BU Terrier Invitational this weekend in fine fashion, running a hand-timed 10:06.50 to provisionally qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships.

Running on Friday night, the Jumbos foursome consisted of three sophomores and a freshman. Freshman Greg Pallotta (Syracuse, NY) led off, followed by sophomores Andrew Longley (Short Hills, NJ), Billy Hale (Menlo Park, CA) and Jesse Faller (Burlington, MA). Their time was fourth overall at the meet and was well within the NCAA "provo" of 10:10 flat. A foursome from Duke won the BU race in 10:01.40.

On Saturday, the Jumbo contingent was highlighted by the 55-meter hurdle duo of sophomore Ikenna Acholonu (Shoreline, WA) and sophomore Trevor Donadt (Northborough, MA). Both qualified for the final, and Acholonu finished fifth in 7.95 seconds and Donadt was ninth in 8.05 seconds.

In the 200 meter dash, the 22.63 seconds time put down by sophomore Andrew Longley (Short Hills, NJ) was just .02 of a second off the Tufts indoor record of 22.61 set by Greg Hutton in 1993.

The Jumbo field athletes (jumpers, throwers) were on a rest week and did not compete.
