BRADLEY WINS HIGH JUMP EVENT AT UMASS LOWELL

COLLEGE MEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD RESULTS
George Davis Invitational
Saturday, April 14, 2007
At Lowell, MA

Results

LOWELL -- Sophomore James Bradley (Atkinson, NH) out-jumped the rest of the field to win the high jump at the 2007 George Davis Invitational hosted by the University of Massachusetts Lowell on Saturday. Bradley cleared 6 feet, 2 inches before Stonehill's Joe D'Agostino and Dana Burbank to record the victory.

That was the highlight of the meet for Tufts as the team continues to adapt to the outdoors. The New England weather this April has been more difficult than usual, and Saturday's meet faced cold temperatures and wind.

Tufts had several third-place individuals at the meet featuring mostly Division II and III teams, along with some unattached entrants. Senior tri-captain Nate Cleveland (Auburn, ME) ran third in the 800 meters with a time of 1 minute, 57.43 seconds. Other thirds were earned by senior Justin Chung (Manchester, CT) in the 5,000 meters (15:25.25), freshman Trevor Donadt (Northborough, MA) in the 110-meter hurdles (15.56 seconds), senior tri-captain David McCleary (Ellington, CT) in the 400-meter hurdles (57.76 second) and freshman Ikenna Acholonu (Shoreline, WA) in the triple jump (42' 3 1/4").

Junior Kenneth Kang and freshman James Rogers (Bangor, ME) tied for second in a small pole vault field with each clearing 11' 9".

Acholonu was right behind Donadt in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.59 seconds for fourth place. Likewise, freshman Billy Hale (Menlo Park, CA) was right behind his teammate Cleveland in the 800 with a 1:57.49 fourth-place time. Freshman Scott Brinkman (Alamo, CA) too fourth in the 400 meters (50.58 seconds).

The Jumbos make the short trip over to MIT next Saturday to compete in an invitational.
