Meet Results

MEDFORD -- The Tufts University men's indoor track & field team competed in its final meet before the championship season on Saturday at the Tufts Stampede. The non-scoring meet was held at the Gantcher Center.

Senior Nate Thompson (South Portland, ME) and sophomore Jamil Ludd (Washington, DC) significantly dropped their 55 meter hurdle times. Thompson won the race in 7.92 seconds and Ludd was a hair behind him in 7.93 seconds. Thompson also triple jumped well, reaching 42 feet, 4 inches for third place.

Brian McNamara (Saratoga Springs, NY) won the 1,000 meters in 2:35.99 and Seth LaPierre (Auburn, NH) was tops in the pole vault at 13-9. After a week off, sophomore Fred Jones (Northfield, MA) won the long jump in 22-8, but was off a bit in the triple for second place (44-6 3/4).

Freshman Nate Scott (East Hartford, CT) qualified for New England's in the 600 meters with a solid time of 1:24.39 for second place. Trevor Williams (Clifton Park, NY) also took a second in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.17 seconds, as did Aaron Kaye (Los Altos, CA) in the 1 mile run (4:27.23), Pat Mahoney (Cranford, NJ) in the 800 (1:59.07). Jeremy Arak (Ipswich, MA) in the high jump (6-4).

Vinny Galatro (Stamford, CT) had a banner day in the weight, throwing a huge personal best at 46-10.
