Meet Results
MEDFORD -- With a team total of 316 points, the Tufts Men's Indoor Track & Field team ran away with the victory at the first Tufts Invitational of the season on Saturday. Jumbos won nine events, helping the team defeat second-place Keene State College's total of 124 points by 92.
Freshman Fred Jones (Northfield, MA) won the Long Jump (6.39 meters) and the Triple Jump (13.86 meters). Other field event winners were sophomore
Seth LaPierre (Auburn, NH) in the Pole Vault with a best of 4.10 meters. Freshman
Ryan Byrne (Tewksbury, MA) took the Shot Put victory with a 13.47-meter toss.
Junior speedster Raynald Carre (Middletown, CT) was first in the 400 Meter Dash, finishing in 51 seconds flat. Classmate
Nate Brigham (Penacook, NH) scored the 10 points for first place in the 3,000 Meter Run with a time of 8 minutes, 36.10 seconds. Junior
Michael Don (Clayton, MO) made it a Jumbo sweep in the long distances with a time of 15:29.70 to win the 5,000 Meter Run.
The Jumbos won two of the three relay events, though in the 4x800 they were the only school entered of the six competing in the meet.
