JUMBOS TAKE THIRD PLACE AT NEW ENGLAND DIVISION III MEET

Meet Results
CAMBRIDGE -- The Tufts Men's Indoor Track & Field team scored 87 points and took third
place at the Division III New England Indoor Track & Field Championships held at MIT on
Saturday. Host MIT took first place with 120 points, while NESCAC rival Williams took
second with 88 points. Bowdoin College and Bates College rounded out the top five.
Senior captains Greg Devine (Springfield, MA) and Bryan Pitko (Arlington, MA) took first
and second, respectively, in the 55 Meter Hurdles to lead Tufts. Devine crossed the finish
line in 7.56 seconds, while Pitko crossed in 7.69 seconds. Freshman Nathan Thompson (South
Portland, ME) finished seventh in the race with a time of 8.16 seconds. That's 20 points
right there for the Jumbos. Thompson also finished second in the Long Jump with a best of
22 feet, 9 3/4 inches.
Sophomore Nate Brigham (Penacook, NH) won the 5,000 Meter Run for the Jumbos in a time
of 15:02.65. Junior Peter Bromka (Portland, OR) came in sixth in the race with a time of
15:27.26. The 4x400 meter relay team won in a time of 3:22.96, with freshman

Raynald Carre (Middletown, CT) handing to Devine. The Distance Medley team - freshman

Williams (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa), junior Ian Joseph (Lexington, MA/Lexington),
freshman Kyle Doran (North Attleboro, MA/Bishop Feehan) and sophomore
Aaron Kaye (Los Altos,
CA/Los Altos) - came in third with a time of 10:35.04.
Carre was second in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 50.50 seconds, while Hansberry came
in third in the 600 Meter Run with a time of 1:23.89. Freshman Seth LaPierre (Auburn, NH) was
third in the Pole Vault with a height of 14 feet, 0 3/4 inches.
