Meet Results
MEDFORD -- Though the Tufts Men's Indoor Track & Field team won just three races during
the day, their overall depth carried them to a first place finish at the Tufts Invitational
at the Gantcher Center on Saturday. The Jumbos compiled 167 points to beat Springfield
College by 11.
Winning for the Jumbos was senior Greg Devine (Springfield, MA) in the 55 Meter Hurdles
with a time of 7.66 seconds. He also placed second in the 55 Meter Dash (6.67) and the 200
Meter Dash (22.96). Senior Adam Sharp (Alexandria, NH) won the 1,500 Meter Run with a time
of 4:03.34, and 4x400 Meter Relay team was a winner in 3:24.67.
Jumbos took places 2 through 4 in the 800 Meter Run, with freshman Shawn Hansberry
(Westford, MA) as the runner-up in 2:00.77. Sophomore Nate Brigham (Penacook, NH) placed
second in the 3,000 Meter Run (8:53.11) to lead a trip of Jumbos that placed 2-3-4.
Other second place efforts came from sophomore Nate Thompson (South Portland, ME) in the
Long Jump (21-1 1/4), freshman Mike Cummings (Cheshire, CT) in the 5,000 Meter Run (15:48.12)
and the 4x200 relay (1:34.68).
