Meet Results
WALTHAM -- The Tufts Men's Indoor Track & Field team won seven events en route to a
second place finish at the eight-team Brandeis Invitational on Saturday. In the first
scoring meet of the winter season, Tufts accumulated 131 points, second only to MIT's
199 points.
Sophomore Nate Thompson (South Portland, ME) won the 55 Meter Hurdles in 8.24 seconds
and the Long Jump with a leap of 20 feet, 6 1/4 inches. Jumbos took first, third, fourth
and fifth in the 3,000 Meter Run, with cross country All-American Nate Brigham (Penacook
NH) winning in 8:45.45.
Senior tri-captain Greg Devine (Springfield, MA) won the 400 Meter Run with a time of
51.24 seconds. Classmate Bryant Coen (Oakton, VA) took the 600 in 1:26.36, and fellow
senior tri-captain Adam Sharp (Alexandria, NH) won the 1,000 Meters (2:37.11) as the Jumbos
had a strong hold on the middle distances. Freshman David Clayton (Medford, MA) was second
in the Triple Jump (39-9 3/4) and fifth in the Long Jump (18-6 1/2).
The Distance Medley Relay foursome was also victorious with a time of 10:36.64.
