MEDFORD -- Senior Nick Weisser (Baltimore, MD) scored four goals and the visiting Williams College Ephs out-scored the Tufts Jumbos 7-1 in the second half for a 13-6 victory in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon.

Williams, ranked 16th in this week's national poll, won its fourth straight to improve to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in the NESCAC. Tufts dropped its third in a row and now stands at 5-3 overall and 0-3 in the league. Williams has now won five consecutive games against Tufts.

The game was close through most of three quarters. Williams led, 3-0, after the first quarter on goals by junior Robert Adamo (Garden City, NY), senior co-captain Nick Martinelli and Weisser. Tufts battled back and tied the score at 4-4 on sophomore David Supple's (Rowayton, CT) goal at 6:52 of the second. The upstart Jumbos scored five times in the second quarter - two by senior Greg Molinelli (Northport, NY) including one as time expired - and trailed just 6-5 at the half.

It remained a one-goal Williams lead until Weisser and junior Graham Davidson (Needha, MA) scored to put the Ephs up 8-5 after three. The visitors then added five goals in the fourth quarter, including two by senior Geoff Cohane (Concord, MA), to pull away.

Freshman Mike Buscher (New Canaan, CT) made 10 saves for the win in the Williams net. Sophomore Kirk Lutwyler (Ridgewood, NJ) stopped 11 shots for Tufts.
