MEDFORD -- Senior co-captain Parker Sides (Marblehead, MA) and junior Tim Boyd (New Canaan, CT) scored four goals apiece to lead the visiting Connecticut College Camels to a convincing 15-4 victory over the Tufts University Jumbos in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's lacrosse action on Wednesday afternoon.
Boyd scored three of his goals in the first half and senior co-captain Jamie Keough (Ipswich, MA) had two others as the Camels jumped to a 6-2 lead. The host Jumbos were unable to get on the scoreboard until 8:12 remained in the second quarter when sophomore Jon Zissi (Winchester, MA) netted his 20th of the season.
Sides scored three of his team's five goals in the third quarter as Connecticut College extended its lead to 11-3. Sophomore David Supple (Rowayton, CT) scored the only goal of the period for Tufts and finished with that and two assists. Four different scorers added to the Camel margin in the final quarter as seven players overall scored goals for the visitors.
The Tufts offense wasn't without opportunities, sending 36 shots at the Connecticut College net. Junior goalkeeper Shalin Dave' (Vestal, NY) was sharp for the Camels with seven saves. Sophomore Kirk Lutwyler (Ridgewood, NJ) made nine stops for the Jumbos.
Conn won its second straight overall (3-6) and its first in the NESCAC (1-4). Tufts dropped its fourth in a row, falling to 5-4 overall and 0-4 in the league.
