FOGLIETTA CHOSEN AS NIKE/INSIDE LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MEDFORD -- A career day from sophomore goalkeeper Steven Foglietta (Oceanside, NY) helped the Tufts University men's lacrosse team advance to the NCAA finals for the first time in school history, earning him Nike/Inside Lacrosse Player of the Week honors for Division III.

Foglietta made a career-best 16 saves to help the Jumbos edge defending NCAA champion Cortland on the road, including a last-second save against Red Dragons All-America midfielder Brandon Misiaszek to preserve the tie. That performance helped Tufts hold Cortland to just two second-half goals, which allowed its offense to rally for the 10-9 victory and a trip to Baltimore.

On the season, Foglietta has allowed 8.63 goals a game and stopped 53-perent of the shots he's seen while winning 15 of the Jumbo's 19 games.
