GILLETTE STADIUM IN PREPARATION FOR NCAA FINAL
MEDFORD -- The Tufts University men's lacrosse team held a practice
on Thursday afternoon at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, home of the
New England Patriots and Revolution. The session was a final tune-up
before Tufts' trip to Baltimore where they will play in the 2010
NCAA Division III Championship Game against Salisbury University on
Sunday (May 30).
The Jumbos were guests of the Kraft Family, owners of the Patriots,
Revolution, and Gillette Stadium. Dan Kraft is a 1987 graduate of
Tufts, played lacrosse for the Jumbos, and is a member of the Tufts
University Board of Trustees. Mr. Robert Kraft, Chairman and CEO of
the Kraft Group, and one of the most influential men in the National
Football League, spoke to the team at the beginning of the practice.
The Tufts team had lunch at CBS Scene, a restaurant within the
recently developed Patriot Place shopping, dining and entertainment
complex. After getting ready for practice in the spacious visitors'
locker room, the Jumbos were put through a two-hour practice on the
Gillette turf by Coach Mike Daly and his staff. The team used the
practice to assimilate themselves with playing in a large stadium.
Sunday's NCAA Championship Game will be held in M&T Bank Stadium,
home of the Baltimore Ravens.
After the practice, the Jumbos boarded their bus and began making
their way to Baltimore.
