Three nationally ranked teams faced off in a tri-meet hosted by Bates, and the results were scintillating.Twenty-first ranked MIT won the race with 40 points, ninteenth ranked Bates was second with 41 points, and #12 Tufts was last with 43 points. The difference for the Jumbos was not scoring well with their fifth runner. Head Coach Connie Putnam's team placed four finishers in the Top 10: Senior Matt Lyons (Wakefield, MA/Wakefield) was third overall in 27:14, senior Peter Rodrigues (Weatogue, CT/Simsbury) was sixth in 28:01, sophomore Jason Mann (Rosemont, PA) was eighth in 28:09 and senior Steve Kaye (Upper Saddle River, NJ/Northern Highlands) was 10th in 28:20.
