1874 - First informal track team formed
1927 - Fred "Fish" Ellis, E29, earns All-New England honors in 4 sports, including track
1940 - Edward "Eddie" Dugger, E41, wins the 120-yard hurdles National Championships in 13.9 seconds, a NCAA and US record that would last for five years
1941 - Under Coach Clarence "Ding" Dussault, the team of Dugger, Ray Valente, Walter Hall, and Robert Sparrow wins the Shuttle Hurdle Relay at the Penn Relays
1947 - Cross Country runner Ted Vogel, A49, places 3rd in the Boston Marathon, and goes on to represent US in the 1948 Olympics
1948-50 - Rudolph "Rudy" Forest, A50, G51, earns letters in 4 sports, including baseball and track in the same season
1948-49 - Track team went undefeated w/ Charlie Kirkiles, A49, Alan Wolozin, A48, Charlie Johnson, A49, Eddie Palmieri, A46, Bob Backus, A51, and Tom Bane, A51
1949 - Fred Schoeffler, A50, earns All-American Honors in Cross Country
1952 - Backus competes in the Helsinki Olympics, placing 13th in the 16-pound hammer
1955 - Brooks T. Johnson, A56 ,sets new intercollegiate record in the 60 yard hurdles. Johnson goes on to set the world record in 1960 and coach the Stanford University teams in 1979 and Women's US Olympic Team in 1984
1956 - Track goes undefeated under the captainship of Johnson.
1966-67 - Cross Country and Indoor Track goes undefeated, with Outdoor only losing one meet w/ Bruce Baldwin, E68, Ron Caseley, E68, and Chris Kutteruf, A68
1976 - 3 time All-America Fred Hintlian, A76, wins the 440-yard hurdles at National Championships
1988 - Mark Herlihy A88 wins the 3000m Steeplechase National Championship
1998 - The Farm Course course at Tufts Vet School in Grafton, MA opens. Designed by Coach Connie Putnam, it is the first cross country course to be built on Tufts grounds
2001 - 3 time All-America David Patterson, E01, wins the 3000m Steeplechase National Championship
