Writing Tutoring Free writing
assistance is available for all Tufts students. Tutors work with
undergraduate and graduate students to plan, draft, and revise
papers. Tutorial assistance is also available for longer writing
projects such as senior theses and dissertations. Students may make
an appointment to consult with a writing tutor through the
Online Tutor Finder, or visit a writing tutor during drop-in
hours in Tisch Library or elsewhere on campus (see the
ARC web site for drop-in
schedule).
For Undergraduates:
- Writing Tutoring for English 1, 2, 3, 4 and Philosophy 1:
Elizabeth Leavell and Brianna are professional writing tutors
dedicated to helping first-year students transition to college-level
writing. Make an appointment with Elizabeth or Brianna through the
Online Tutor Finder.
- Writing Consultations for Any Undergraduate Course
Students can receive assistance from a peer Writing Fellow at any
stage in the writing process, from brainstorming to revising. To set
up an appointment, go to the Online Tutor Finder. Don't wait till
the last minute . . . our tutors are students, too.
- Writing Consultants for Senior Thesis Writers
Seniors writing a thesis can receive writing support and feedback
from experienced Graduate Writing Consultants. Email

For Graduate Students:
- Writing Support
We support projects such as essays, term papers,
fellowship applications, theses, doctoral dissertations, conference
papers, proposals and abstracts. Writing tutoring is individualized,
and may be arranged for regular weekly appointments or on an
as-needed basis or. Our writing tutors are graduate students seeking
degrees in English, Philosophy, Nutrition, Law & Diplomacy, Child
Development, Museum Studies, and many other fields. Visit the

- Oral Communications
Individualized tutoring is also available to
help students prepare for class presentations, professional
presentations, interview, and course lectures.
- English
We help non-native speakers of English improve their
diction, grammar, and prose style for greater clarity. Non-native
speakers of English may also meet with a tutor or conversation group
to improve English pronunciation and practice speaking skills.
