    Networking

We have planned several opportunities for networking.

  • At the morning registration early birds can connect over coffee and snacks in the display hall where materials from various organizations and activity groups will be on display. Click here to submit an application to display materials for your group or activity.
  • The Friday evening film and the evening in general are all a bonanza of networking time. Friday night will include a reception for all conference attendees and the film Born into Brothels, by Ross Kauffman and Zana Briski . This film was the winner of the 77th annual Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. A tribute to the resiliency of childhood and the restorative power of art, Born into Brothels is a portrait of several unforgettable children who live in the red light district of Calcutta, where their mothers work as prostitutes. Zana Briski, a New York-based photographer, gives each of the children a camera and teaches them to look at the world with new eyes.
  • Lunch on Saturday, of course, provides another opportunity and is likely to include most conference attendees.
  • The closing reception will provide the final unstructured networking opportunity.

    Sponsorship Opportunity

Funding for NEWSA conferences depends on support from women's studies departments and also from their home institutions. Norwalk Community College has generously stepped up with host facilities and funding, while other colleges and university are providing funds, volunteers and materials. Join us in providing this important forum. A $50 contribution will place your organization's name in our program as a sponsor . Click here to submit a sponsorship pledge.

    THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST!
