Our Staff:

Sue Gilbert became the Women's Center Interim Director in October 2006. She started working at the Center in 2002 as the Women's Board Coordinator and Administrator for the Campus Violence Prevention Project. For over ten years she has worked in community-based organizations focusing on health, sustainability and youth development. Sue is an avid dancer and member of the Rainbow Tribe Dance Company.Women's Center staff She holds an MA in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts and a BA in Biology and Environmental Studies from Brandeis University. {617-627-4640}

Alonso Nichols is a Violence Prevention Educator. He started working at the Center on the Campus Violence Prevention Project in 2002. In his Tufts career, Alonso has also been a Resident Director with the Office of Residential Life and Learning. Alonso is a photographer and has traveled with Tufts students to collaborate on documentary photojournalism projects in Argentina and Nicaragua. He has an MA in Spanish Literature from the University of California, Irvine and a BA in Spanish from the University of Louisville. {617-627-3304}

Elaine Theodore is the Education Coordinator of the Campus Violence Prevention Project, coming to tufts in 2003. Elaine has enjoyed a career that combines education, psychology and the arts. She has worked as an expressive therapist, health and sexuality educator and focused on work with girls and young women. While at Tufts, she also works as a guardian ad lidem and investigator for the Essex County juvenile court. She is a professional actor and can be seen in productions locally. Elaine holds a Masters in Education from the Adolescent Risk and Prevention, Human Psychology and Development program at Harvard University, and a BFA in theater from NYU. She is the incredibly proud mother of Ruby.

Amy Zagarella joined the Women's Center in January, 2007. After graduating from Fairfield University with a major in International studies and a minor in Women's studies, Amy enjoyed a position with Clean Harbors Environmental Services as the Assistant to the Rental Fleet Manager. In 2003 she joined EF Education in Cambridge Massachusetts, where she coordinated conferences, interacted with colleagues from around the globe, and had the pleasure of meeting exchange students from over 30 countries. Amy is the Staff Assistant for both the Women's Center and the Asian American Center, and enthusiastically looks forward to her career at Tufts University. {617-627-3027}
