Faculty Profile

Expertise: North American and modern art and visual culture.

Emily Gephart is an art historian currently working on her Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the History, Theory and Criticism program; she holds a MA in Art History from Tufts University (’97), and a BA in Art History from Oberlin College, (’91). Her teaching experience has included art history courses at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (2005-present) and Massachusetts College of Art and Design, (2001-present). She has been a discussant at the College Art Association and published in Cabinet magazine; her current research concerns the influence of cubism on American painters in the early 20th century.
