For Seniors:  Natural Sciences, Math, and Engineering


National Science Foundation
Provides the opportunity for three years of graduate study in any American College or university. Open to all U.S. citizens who are at or near the beginning of their graduate study. Fellowships are awarded for study or work leading to the master's or doctoral degree in the mathematical, physical, biological, engineering and social sciences, and in the history and philosophy of science. Students seeking the Ph.D. are given preference in the competition.

NIH Oxford-Cambridge PhD Programs in Biomedical Sciences
These programs provide full financial support for students pursuing a Ph.D. at Oxford or Cambridge Universities in the United Kingdom, carrying out research projects with faculty there in collaboration with researchers at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.

Winston Churchill
Designated for graduate study at Churchill College, Cambridge, England in the fields of Engineering, Mathematics and Science. There are one-year awards. Any U.S. citizen between 19 and 26 holding a bachelor's degree at the beginning of the academic year for which the scholarship is granted is eligible. A specific plan of study is necessary for application. The competition is nationwide; excellent grades in the sciences (and overall) are necessary.
